I’m pretty sure I just won the prize for the most unpopular article in Daily Kos history. Not realizing that Kos is a Democratic Party loyalist site, I posted this piece which kinda sorta endorses Clinton but from a deeply ambivalent and highly critical perspective. I also left myself wiggle room to vote for Jill Stein if Clinton has a significant lead in California heading into Election Day.

The Kos readers skewered me. When I (belatedly) read their community posting guidelines, I learned that saying anything nice about third parties is NOT EVEN ALLOWED. So, my bad for choosing the wrong forum and Kos’ bad for overt censorship and narrow-mindedness.

Proud Parent of a Kind Child

I created this bumper sticker as a counter-narrative to the “Proud Parent of an Honor Roll Student” bumper sticker. I believe that, as a parent, my most important job is to raise a child with an altruistic moral character and that my child’s academic achievement is of secondary importance.

The bumper sticker was inspired by Michele Borba’s book “Unselfie: Why Empathetic Kids Succeed in our All-about-Me World.”
